Details
Incident. There were no witnesses to what happened at this incident. However the following information is available. Whilst working on a unexploded bomb on the Great Western Road, Corporal G. Mundy phoned his barracks to get some advice from his Commanding Officer, Lieutenant G. Grover or Sergeant Buckley, both were out on another job at the time of the call. It would seem that Corporal Mundy then went to a garage borrowed a rope and crow bar and went back to the bomb. The events after this are unknown except for the fact that the bomb detonated, killing Corporal G. Mundy, Sapper’s V. Mulrooney, L. Saunders, W. Slater, E. Walker, L. Watts.Personal Details
